Eaglebe as the central link in digital communication with citizens, services, and partners

About Braine-le-Comte

Braine-le-Comte is a Walloon city that is strongly committed to digitalization within its local government. With a growing number of projects, events, and permit applications, the city was looking for a way to streamline the flow of information between internal departments, external partners, and residents.
Communications manager Gwenaëlle Williot played a key role in this digital transformation and in the decision to choose the Eaglebe Smart City Platform.

The challenge: fragmented information and complex communication

Before Eaglebe, information about projects and events was scattered across different systems and departments. This led to:
  • A lot of manual coordination between internal teams
  • Time lost on recurring, simple questions
  • Additional work for the communications department to translate information into clear messages for residents
  • Difficulties reusing data between residents, staff, and external services
Braine-le-Comte therefore wanted to:
  • Centralize available data
  • Maximize the reuse of information
  • Simplify the flow of information between all parties involved
Together with the municipality of Soignies, the city started searching for a digital solution.

The solution: one central platform with Eaglebe

With Eaglebe, Braine-le-Comte found a central solution for managing all projects and events within the local government’s territory.

One single source of truth for all departments

  • All staff have access to exactly the information they need to do their job.
  • Simple questions can be answered independently using Eaglebe, without having to contact other departments each time.
  • Personal meetings are reserved for more complex cases, allowing time to be used more efficiently.

Automatic publication to citizens

Information from Eaglebe is automatically displayed on a digital public map:
  • Projects and events are immediately visible to residents.
  • The communications team no longer needs to manually “translate” permits into citizen-friendly updates.
  • This saves a lot of time and ensures that information is published accurately and consistently.

For the local government

For the local government of Braine-le-Comte, Eaglebe represents a major step toward more efficient internal operations. By centralizing all information related to projects and events, collaboration becomes easier, less time is lost searching for data, and departments can focus on content instead of administration.

One central source of information

All data related to projects and events is brought together in one clear platform.

More efficient work for staff

Staff can find the right information more quickly and spend less time searching for it.

Less pressure on the communications team

Information no longer needs to be rewritten or entered multiple times, saving both time and reducing errors.

Stronger internal collaboration

All departments work together in a shared system, making coordination and collaboration easier.

For citizens

For citizens and external partners, Eaglebe makes the impact on public spaces much more transparent and the process of applying for permits significantly easier. They gain more control and visibility themselves, without having to rely on scattered emails or phone calls.

Informed citizens

Citizens can instantly see which projects and events are taking place in public spaces.

Submit requests faster and more easily

Associations and contractors can easily copy or extend their files without having to re-enter all the information.

Always have insight into ongoing cases

Through the Eaglebe Portal, users have a clear overview of all their active requests.

Continuity during staff changes

When the contact person changes, the general account and history are retained, ensuring that the overview is never lost.

The next step: integrations and omnichannel communication

Braine-le-Comte is looking beyond using Eaglebe as a standalone solution. The city is exploring how Eaglebe can be even more closely integrated with other software applications within the administration.
The first concrete step has already been taken:
  • Integration with the city’s interactive displays
  • These screens serve as a gateway to new digital services for citizens who still prefer in-person assistance at the counter.
This way, Braine-le-Comte combines digital innovation with accessible, in-person services.
