Merkator Group at BEGEO Brussels Expo: Green vibes, Global GIS talks & a Nocturne to remember

A booth built for conversations

Today Tuesday 24 March, Merkator Group showed up strong at BEGEO at Brussels Expo. Together with GIM and SIGGIS, we took over our corner of the show floor with one simple goal: make it easy for people to stop, sit down, and connect.

No flashy gimmicks. Just a few trees, a bit of green, and some comfortable seats to turn “walking by” into “staying a while”.

And honestly? That was all we needed. Because when the setup feels welcoming, the conversations do the heavy lifting.

So we all talked about GIS, about GEO Intelligent Solutions.

An exciting start  (and a very global chat)

A big thank you to Theo Francken for paying us a visit and for the great conversation about Belgian innovation — from supporting local municipalities all the way to helping the UAE Ministry of Defense. A global exercise with real results.

Once again, Esri & GIS proved to be powerful enablers: connecting data, people and decisions — and turning complex realities into something you can act on.

And thanks as well to Sanjay Kumar for stopping by and adding to this “global game”. Sometimes a short exchange is all it takes to spark a new angle, a new idea, or a next step.

Because it doesn’t always have to be serious

And then came the nocturne.

Because let’s be honest: it doesn’t always have to be all business. During the evening event, Merkator Group proudly sponsored the party together with GWF — a moment to relax, laugh, and celebrate the community behind the tech.

We wrapped up a truly successful edition of BEGEO: good conversations, new connections, and the perfect mix of content and atmosphere.

See you at the next edition in 2028.
